Causality ain’t what you think it is

One of the things I appreciate about the Wolfram model is that it makes me question everything I thought I know about physics... and philosophy.

Causality is one of those things.

Back when I thought that the universe evolved according to continuous equations, I was tempted to conclude that there’s no such thing as causality.

If, as Wolfram proposes, the universe evolves according to discrete computation instead, it looks like there may be a role for a humbler concept of causal connection after all.

Let me know what you think!
