Here’s the second excerpt from my conversation with Stephen Wolfram.

I sense a tension in Wolfram Physics between the idea that it’s the nature of the hypergraph rewriting rules that makes the universe is the way it is, and the idea that it’s our nature as observers that makes the universe seem the way it seems to us.
