RLE to text converter

for Conway’s Game of Life

Two different file formats are commonly used by visualizers of Conway’s Game of Life:

• Run Length Encoded or RLE – file extension .rle
• Plaintext or text – file extension .text or .cells

This tool converts files from RLE to text format:

1. Open your RLE file in a text editor
2. Copy and paste the RLE into the box below
3. Press the convert button
4. Create a text file in a text editor
5. Copy and paste the text into your text file
6. Save your text file
