Nodes, edges, graphs & rules:
the basic concepts of Wolfram Physics

Today, I’m going to dive right into Wolfram Physics.

And, well, you might not believe that the words “simple” and “physics” can go together, but I’m going to keep it simple.

Even if words like node, edge, graph and rule conjure bad memories of school math lessons for you, I’m hoping I’ll convince you that Stephen Wolfram’s vision of the universe is comprehensible without mathematics.

Keep in mind, though, that if today’s post leaves you with more questions than answers, that’s fine: it’s going to take many more posts before we’ll even begin to answer all those questions.

Today’s post has a lot of visuals, so I’d recommend reading the article (which has images) or watching the video (which has animations) rather than listening to the audio.

Let me know if there’s anything that’s not clear, or if you have particular questions you’d like addressed in future posts!
